The 2006 Blue Wave Texas Trout Series Tournaments began in February and ended with a Championship Tournament in May. The stops were Corpus Christi, Port O’Connor, Matagorda and Rockport.  Mother Nature provided temperatures as low as 45° with 25 mph north winds in Baffin to gusty 30 mph winds in Rockport, testing each of the 110 angler’s skills.  “This has been one of the most challenging tournament trails I’ve fished in a long time” says Captain Garrett Gill. The top five teams arrived to the Championship Tournament competing for the title of Early Times Team of the Year.  With a close race, Captain Garrett Gill and Dale Best finished ranked 5^th overall.  Captain Garrett Gill and Dale Best operate the newly released 22ft Blue Wave Pure Bay with a 225hp Suzuki.  “The Pure Bay’s versatility of handling rough conditions and shallow water has proven to surpass the competition in tournament performance”, says Captain Garrett Gill.  Dale Best says, “As a bass fisherman, I was impressed with the speed and handling of the Pure Bay”.  Congratulations to Captain Garrett Gill and Dale Best for a job well done!
