Oklahoma Boat Manufacturer Celebrates 20th Year in Business

Parks Manufacturing, Inc., dba. Blue Wave Boats, of Seminole, Okla., maker of Blue Wave Boats and Silver Wave Pontoons, celebrates 20 years of business this year.

Owners, Roger and Pam Parks, have always had a passion for building boats. It’s been in their family since 1954 with Roger’s two uncles, father and brothers. In 1992, the Parks family had the privilege of starting their own company.

“We remember finishing the first Blue Wave Boat like it happened yesterday. We drove all night to deliver it to a dealer in time for their boat show,” Pam Parks said.

From the beginning, Blue Wave Boats has been located in central Oklahoma. Roger hand-crafted the first Blue Wave boat from an original design in a 1,500 sq. ft. facility where the company began. As the years went by, Roger and Pam’s sons, Richard and Steven, gradually came in full-time and became owners, too.

With their 39th expansion, the Parks family now has a built-from-scratch, 165,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility in Seminole, Okla.

“It’s a great accomplishment for us to still be in business after 20 years,” said Roger Parks. “Our most recent successes were building our 10,000th Blue Wave and the launch of our Silver Wave Pontoon line.”

Silver Wave, launched less than two years ago, has already made a huge mark in the industry with many models in three different designs for family who enjoy playing on the water, fishing or both.

.

The Parks family works hard to create the luxurious line of pontoons and bay boats, faster and more fuel efficient than most on the market. The also enjoy using the boats and living a boating lifestyle.

“This past year, we have spent more time together as a family than ever before,” Pam said. “And it’s been on the water.”

Roger added with a smile, “Last summer we took 12 people out on our personal Silver Wave pontoon and taught all the grandkids how to ski. Memories like that we’ll be able to hang on to forever.”

Silver Wave Pontoons are now sold in dealerships throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Maine, Rhode Island, Louisiana and Missouri.

Parks Manufacturing plans to celebrate their 20 years of success July 27-28, in Port Aransas, Texas, at their 15th annual Owner’s Tournament.

“Without our customers, we wouldn’t be where we are today,” Roger said. “There’s no better time to celebrate than with our family and customers at the tournament.”

“We’ll be visiting a lot of lakes this summer,” said Pam. “We hope to see you on the water!”

With the recent launch of a pontoon line, and the continued support from dealers around the country, the Parks family has only high expectations of the future and feels the best is yet to come.
